Botnet
Definition: Botnet is a network of compromised computers (bots) controlled by an attacker to launch coordinated DDoS attacks, increasing the attack’s scale and complexity.
Example: The Mirai botnet infected over 600,000 IoT devices, primarily security cameras and routers. In 2016, it was used to launch a massive DDoS attack against Dyn, a major DNS provider, disrupting services like Twitter, Netflix, and Reddit.
