Angkor Design team wants to inform those who integrated the FB Chat Plugin into their website that starting from May 9, 2024, this Chat Plugin will no longer have access to its features, as announced by Facebook. The Facebook Chat Plugin for websites, created by Meta, has been a useful tool for businesses to communicate with their customers while they browse their websites. Unfortunately, this means that businesses will no longer be able to provide real-time messaging support to their website visitors through this plugin.

The choice to remove the web chat plugin completely could affect businesses that depend on it for customer support and engagement. Many businesses, particularly those using well-known platforms like WordPress Plugin, ManyChat, Chatfuel, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, and Webflow, have incorporated the Facebook Chat Plugin into their websites to offer a smooth messaging experience. Without this plugin, businesses will have to find other ways to provide chat support on their websites.

While the Chat Plugin will no longer be available, Facebook will still offer other features like m.me links. These links allow customers to start conversations with businesses using their preferred messaging app, like Facebook Messenger. Although this alternative may not provide the same level of integration and convenience as the Chat Plugin, it can still be used by customers to contact businesses.

For businesses that use embedded code on their websites, they will also need to make changes to remove the Facebook Chat Plugin and look into other chat options.
